Two dealers, one shared eye. Tim and Sue Roush hunt estate sales and auctions across the Midwest several times a week, then bring the best of it back to their booth at Gillham House Antiques in Kansas City.

Who they are
The whole operation is two people.
Roush Antiques is Tim and Sue Roush — no buyers' committee, no warehouse team. They do the driving, the digging, the hauling, and the pricing themselves. When you email or call, you reach the people who actually found the piece.
They trade in European and American antiques: furniture, lighting, folk art, mirrors, textiles, and the odd unclassifiable object that stops you in the aisle. The booth sits inside Gillham House Antiques, in the historic Stine & McClure building, alongside a curated group of independent dealers.
How they buy
The eye comes first. The trends can wait.
Every piece in the booth passed one test before it made the truck: is it worth keeping? Tim and Sue buy for construction, surface, and character — not for whatever a catalog says is hot this season.
Pieces with a past
They favor things that were made to last and clearly did: solid joinery, real materials, and the marks of a long life in a real house.
Formal to folk
A carved court cupboard one week, a cast-iron pig named Frank the next. The through-line is quality, not category.
Why people work with them
Small enough to answer the phone. Sharp enough to find the thing.
Collectors come back because the booth is never the same twice. Designers, stagers, and production teams come back because Tim and Sue can hear a description of a room or a scene and go hunt the piece down — often faster than a rental house can pull it off a shelf.
